Farmhouse Dining Table

I was commissioned to make a large (108×48″) dining table from reclaimed wood. I had an old salvaged kitchen table that I used in my workshop for my miter saw stand. I lengthened the base with salvaged 2x6s that were from an old pole barn. They were ripped, sanded, then primed and painted a semi-gloss bright white. I re-used the hardware that came with the table so the legs could be detached if needed for transport or future moves. The table top was made from old spruce that was used as masonry scaffolding boards. The boards were planed and then joined to form the table top. It was stained a “red oak” color and then finished with 5 coats of semi-gloss polyurethane for protection. The table can easily seat up to 12 people.
