New Reclaimed Wood Goods!

Now that I’m done with Fall shows (yes, I only did two) I’m listing a whole bunch of inventory to my Esty shop where you can find a whole variety of hand made, reclaimed wood picture frames, Jersey cutouts, salvaged wood tree sculptures, and some of my own framed landscape photography!

Featured Find: bird crate scraps!

This is the second time I’ve stumbled upon these old wood boards. They are from NJ Fish & Wildlife game bird crates that are used to transport farm raised birds to WMAs during the fall hunting season. When the crates need to be fixed many old pieces get trashed. The trademark green paint and heavy […]

Frames, frames and more frames!

After going away on a short family vacation to Maine, I’m back and busier than ever! First, I have almost no inventory and two fall shows coming up, so there have been many late nights working in the shop. I’m also wrapping up some framing jobs (some long overdue for friends/family…sorry guys!) that I had […]

Absence

Yesterday I assisted Eagle Scout candidate, Sean Skinner to demo and replace two old osprey nesting platforms. The work was being done inside Sedge Island Wildlife Management Area, off the southwest portion of Island Beach State Park. Sean built two new 1-post platforms to replace two old and predator prone ones. We got the job […]

Support your local arts!

I donated this piece to support the Noyes Museum of Art. I made the image last year while conducting osprey nesting surveys on Barnegat Bay. It’s framed in reclaimed cedar and the frame features a shelved edge, which is a huge hit ’round here! The item will be an auction item for the Noyes Museum […]

Custom framed art by Matt Burton!

I had the pleasure of framing up some original artwork by local artist, Matt Burton from m.t. Burton Gallery in Surf City, LBI. I’ve known Matt for years. We first met when I was attending Ocean County College, back in 2000! I had him for a ceramics course, which was held at LBIF. At the […]

Cut once; measure twice, right?

Every once and a while I make frames the wrong size…oops! I have a few that I figured I’d offer for sale. All are made from reclaimed Atlantic white-cedar which has a nice weathered grey patina (photo below of the 20×24″ frame): 16.5 x 19.5″ – $56 16 x 24″ – $60 20 x 24″ […]

Featured find!

I figured this could be a new theme for blog posts. I’m always wondering what to post, and people always ask where I find wood that I salvage. This isn’t really a piece that I could make a frame from, but it’s a nest piece with a back story! This mini paddle was found under […]
