Absence

Yesterday I assisted Eagle Scout candidate, Sean Skinner to demo and replace two old osprey nesting platforms. The work was being done inside Sedge Island Wildlife Management Area, off the southwest portion of Island Beach State Park. Sean built two new 1-post platforms to replace two old and predator prone ones. We got the job done in less than 4 hours. Nice work, guys!

Otherwise, only one adult osprey was seen. All others are soaring south on the cool, northwest winds. Fair winds, my friends! The absence of ospreys is a sure sign that autumn is here!!

Here are a few iPhone shots. Weather was amazing yesterday, cool dry air, warm water and no wind. I have them a monochrome treatment for this Monday.
