Freshly salvaged wood

I made a run to Hammonton yesterday to drop off some goods at the Noyes Museum Shop & Framing location there. Some of my work will be for sale there and at their main location in Oceanville. I’m bagging renting space on Long Beach Island and will be putting stuff on consignment at a few […]

Cape May demolition salvage

I got the opportunity to salvage some goods from a building on federal lands that is getting demolished. I originally went for work to get a push mower to use to mow along the edges of a barrier fence to reduce terrapin road mortality. Well, I ended up with a lot more and I wish […]

The wrath of Hurricane Sandy

Well most people in the path of Hurricane Sandy will agree that it’s been a crazy week! I live fairly close to the shore and my town, New Gretna, is right between two major rivers (Mullica and Bass River). I prepped for the worst and was ready to leave is necessary. The storm came and […]

Reclaimed cedar frames

These are a staple in my Etsy shop. 8×10″ frames are a common size. It is the full size for dSLR cameras without a crop sensor. It can hold both prints of the full size or 5×7″ prints that are inset in a mat. When purchased in my Etsy shop these include everything you need […]

Etsy spotlight: 25″ Salvaged wood tree sculpture

I don’t always know what I’ll do with the wood that I get at first. Last year I got a whole bunch of old wood from game bird crates that were used to transport pheasant and quail to state wildlife management areas. The crates were being repaired and many pieces were getting trashed. I also […]

Oktoberfest in Smithville Village

I had my first fall show last weekend. It was also my first outdoor venue. To help display my work in a professional manner I recently purchased a Light-Dome canopy from Creative Energies, Inc. It’s such a great canopy! Next year I plan to attend a lot of outdoor events with this canopy.

Framed Instagram print

Here’s a freshly framed print of an osprey nestling. I took the photo while conducting osprey nesting surveys to help determine the health of the state population. I grabbed my iPhone 4 and snapped this photo. I cropped and posted it to Instagram without a filter. It came out pretty decent and I decided to […]

Prepping for my first fall (outdoor) event!

Well, my lack in posts isn’t because I I dont like to share what I’m, it’s because I’ve been crazy busy prepping for my first fall event. Last weekend I was also busy with attending a couple local events where my work was on display. Last weekend at the Decoy & Gunning Show in Tuckerton, […]

Pinky Shrimp’s picnic table salvage

Well, I was giving the opportunity to salvage some old picnic tables and I jumped on it. The tables were used at Pinky Shrimp’s Seafood Co. on Long Beach Island for outdoor eating. I didn’t know what they were made of, whether it was treated pine, pine, or cedar until I got there to grab the […]

Banging out some goods!

Well, I’ve got my first show this fall: Smithville’s Oktoberfest on Oct. 6&7. After finishing up a large framing order I can now get back to working on making stuff for the show. Here’s what’s on tap: Pre-finished frames in 5×7, 8×10, 11×14, and 16×20″. They’ll all be different styles and will include a standard […]

Western red cedar frames

I’m prepping for fall shows! Many new frames and framed photography are in the works! Here are two frames made from reclaimed western red cedar. I really love working with cedar. It’s light, shows really nice wear, and is easy to work with.
