For this project I chose to craft a 24×36″ frame from pieces of a shipwreck that was salvaged inside Little Egg Harbor Inlet. Behind the wood plugs are copper nails, which had to be ground down before ripping the boards. Wood is left with its natural patina. Glass is anti-reflective and UV protective. The anti-reflective quality really makes the details of the nautical chart pop. Will look great in the clients island home.
On another note, my wife and I are moving. We aren’t moving far and the new homestead has a woodshop. I will try to stop neglecting this blog to share more about this. I am literally moving home — to the house I grew up in, which is located in downtown Manahawkin. So, my dad’s old woodshop will soon be mine. Until we get settled and I get my shop in order, I won’t be accepting any custom orders unless you are a previous customer and willing to wait until I have free time to devote to woodworking.
