Work continues on reclaimed table
I haven’t made too much custom furniture in the past. A few small tables, benches and an entertainment center for my house. This is the first dining table I’m making and I have to say I was a little intimidated at first just by the size of the table that I was making (9×4′). Many of the old reclaimed masonry boards had a cup or some warping to them. Luckily with some help I was able to take out much of the problem areas to get a nice and flat surface on the top and sides of the boards.
Yesterday I finished glueing the entire top (I already had 2/3″ of it done). Next is cutting it to length and adding boards perpendicularly on the ends. Sanding, staining and finishing the top and painting and assembling the bottom is last to finish.
Every board tells a story – just amazing 🙂
