Prepping for my first event…
I’ve got my first event this Wednesday. Here is where you can find out more about this event, which is in Lanoka Harbor, NJ. I’ve been very busy finishing up last minute pieces and building a large display to show my work for sale. I took advantage of the daylight savings by working until 11:30pm on Saturday night. I got done with all of my panels. I just need to do some light tweaking to one of them (one is bowed in the middle and is giving me problems with attaching it with hinges). I hope to finish them up today. On Wednesday morning I’m going to do a dry run and layout where all my pieces will be displayed on the panels.
All the panels are made from salvaged wood. The smallest panel is framed in salvaged 2x4s and sheathed in a mixture of salvaged boards. The 24″ panel is sheathed in salvaged cedar fence slats, and the large panel (40″) is sheathed with pallet boards that were the exact width of my display. I thought this would be a creative way of showing that just because someone throws something out, it can’t be turned into a treasure for someone else to enjoy/admire.
