early October work
another custom framing job completed!
the details: Custom mounted and framed print (supplied by client). Print was mounted on mat board and inset in two mats (tan on bright white).
The 16 x 20″ frame (inside dimension) is hand made out of salvaged cedar. Corner joints are fastened using a joiner, biscuits, and wood glue. Wood was sanded then stained black and finished with urethane. Size is 21 3/8″ wide by 25 1/2″ tall. Back is finished with craft paper with pouch to hold sheet of paper with story about print. Pre-wired and ready to hang.
about materials: The salvaged wood used to build this frame was reclaimed from a house in Barnegat Light, New Jersey. My friend was renovating his old home there and knotty tongue and groove cedar covered his walls. I knew I could re-use it, so I took it all, including many other items like interior doors, trim, and double hung windows. I like to support workers, businesses, and industries in the United States, so all other materials used in this frame are proudly “Made in USA.”
