In Bloom

Our wildflower stand was handmade from old shipping pallets.

I’ve been a busy bee this spring. Not only with fulfilling some custom orders, but also with crafting up this piece. What I love to do is actually design and build things, like this wildflower stand. I started with three shipping pallets. Joined them. Made a top and then a roof. Sounds simple, right. I kinda was but it took me several weeks to actually complete this (in my spare time). It is complimented by some reclaimed wood flowers, signs and some other small details, like a spool of yarn for tying bouquets.

We have been growing annual wildflowers for several years now. To reduce the amount of grass monoculture we have and to give back to our nectar feeding insects. As we cultivate more of our former lawn for wildflowers, we decided to try and make some money back by selling fresh cut flowers and potted perennials. The flower variety will vary throughout the season. This weekend we are launching the stand and have some nice fresh cut sage for sale. Swing by on your way to your local BBQ and pick up some flowers for the host. A sure crowd pleaser. Only $2/bouquet!
